In the past, I hadn't been too familar with Trick Daddy's music. [SIDEBAR: It wasn't for lack of interest...Blame it on geographics.] However, one day while I was browsing the aisles of my local public libra
ry I came across, "Magic City: Trials Of A Native Son," By: Trick Daddy. My intuition told me to pick up the book and check it out, so I did. [SIDEBAR: When my intuition talks, I listen. My intuition never steers me wrong.]
"Magic City: Trials Of A Native Son" By: Trick Daddy is a stellar memoir. It defies the regular template of a celebrity autobiography. Most celebrity memoirs attractive to readers because of namedropping, and the shocking antics and allegations they recount. However, Trick Daddy does not resort to these salacious tactics in the telling of his life story.
"Magic City: Trials Of A Native Son" By: Trick Daddy is a maturely written tome that deeply analyzes the conditions of the author's life as well as his community's conditions as a whole. This book also provides a history of Florida that many historians would fail to tell.
This book is so valuable because it not only leaves you with an understanding of the author, but it also leaves you with an understanding of humanity as a whole. I'm sure it would have been easy for the author to write a bok full of braggadocios tales, however, he instead chose to create a heart-felt book chock-full of wisdom, lessons, critical analyses, cautionary tales, and positive examples of betterment.
I highly recommend this book, and will be purchasing a copy for my library at home.
